a stupid way to die stalling at speed

Post by Jacobus De Bruyn » Fri Feb 15, 2008 12:27 pm

Just one more of my ignorant observations: would staying in the far right lane do anything to improve safety? I have never driven on a multi lane highway, just occurred to me. The far right lane sees the most activity in terms of vehicles entering and exiting the roadway, so travelling in that lane ALL the time might actually increase your chance of collision. It does reduce the distance to the shoulder in case you break down though. I try to be aware as the miles add up and the gas in the tank goes down, and move to the right lane as I approach the reserve threshold... Makes it easier to exit for the gas station anyway. da Vemonster I wish I never had to travel on a multi-lane highway again.
