I cut the stock handguards where they mount to the left and right perches and then drilled two holes in each barkbuster and handguard for mounting bolts. They provide lots of wind protection and the Moose barkbusters stand up to some pretty rough abuse without bending. But I can vouch that the stock bars will probably bend before the Moose barkbusters based on a sample of one "incident" on asphalt a few years ago. Hi, sorry to be so late on the thread. I hope this mail reaches you before you order your Suzuki foot pegs. I submitted the Suzuki DR650SE foot peg part numbers to the FAQ. The part numbers I submitted are for a stock 1995 DR650SE. These pegs fit perfectly on the KLR. At some point Suzuki changed the foot pegs furnished on the DR650SE to a wider foot peg. These wider pegs too fit perfectly on the KLR. If you want these wider foot pegs you want the pegs as furnished on a 2000 DR650SE. Here are those part numbers: 43550-14D30 FOOTREST,FRONT (right foot peg, one required) 43560-14D30 FOOTREST,FRONT (left foot peg, one required) 09448-15004 FR FOOTREST SPR (foot peg spring, two required) Krokko, can you please add these additional numbers to the FAQ? I think that I prefer the newer, wider, pegs but not enough to surplus the narrower ones on the KLR. Maybe I'll swap the two sets and run the wider pegs on the KLR as I tend to stand more when riding that bike. I got the Tusk aluminum handguards from Rocky Mountain ATV for $36 delivered and cut, drilled and mounted the stock handguard flaps to the new Tusks . . . very nice, cheap, very protective set-up.
