I am one of the people who reported to Fred that the IMS pegs I got from him seemed (to me) to vibrate less than the stock pegs. I wore the same boots with both sets of pegs. I also strongly agree that the IMS pegs make for much secure riding on the street. The stock rubber-clad foot pegs get really slick in the rain, particularly if your boots have picked up a little oil recently liberated from the pavement by the rain. -- Marc, KLR650 A12, Loveland, CO

I have IMS pegs on my KLR650 & note the following: 1. They are a good bit wider (as opposed to longer). I had to tinker a good bit with the shift lever to be able to comfortably get my boot (10.5D) under the shifter & this peg. With the shifter in a location that works for up shifts, I have to lift my foot off the peg for down shifts. 2. IMS pegs chew up the boot straps of my rain gators.

They haven't been a compromise at all. Much safer since my feet would slide off the stock pegs when wet. Wide and very comfortable. Devon

I Have had IMS pegs on 2 klrs and highly recommend them. They are well built. Regarding comfort on the highway I doubt you will have any issues. I prefer wearing boots or motocross boots for offroading. A nice pair of boots with a heavy sole, digging into those pegs is how a dirtbike should feel. Gives you a real sense of confidence. On a more practical note, I initially bought a set of IMS pegs (thanks Fred) for the following reason. I love the height of the klr, but I use the left peg with the bike on the stand to step up on with my left foot, then I swing my right leg over. Then one day after walking across some wet grass and then having my foot slip off the stock rubber peg just as my leg was going over the top, was hard on the groin and I lost a lot of flesh from the side of my shin. After I did this twice, that was it. NO more. good luck Todd A16 03 F7

The additional width is not only comfortable, but with three rows of 'teeth' you are distributing your load over a greater area. Mike Torst Las Vegas

Yea, and I am one of them that will have to agree with that. It suprised me for sure, but I can honestly say that I love them thar IMS pegs. I guess that vibration is reduced, because actual contact area is reduced. Yes, they are bigger, wider pegs, which I like very much, and all steel instead of rubber pads, but the tips of the steel "spikes" is all that you are going to be touching while riding. I rode 600 and something miles home in one day from Disneyland 4 months ago and I had absolutely NO complaints about vibration anywhere, but ESPECIALLY in the footpeg area. Mine came with everything, springs included. The springs are hard to put in, and the instructions are not clear. I have a pic on file now, if you get them and need help. It all depends on which model IMS pegs you might have. The Flightline pegs didn't have springs and the Superstock pegs do. The Superstock pegs are wider and made of stainless steel. The Flightline series has been discontinued and were made from high carbon steel. I am trying to acquire the last of the Flightline series for the KLR. They were priced cheaper and looked like most other dirt bike pegs. Fred http://www.arrowheadmotorsports.com http://www.angelfire.com/ut/moab/cmc.html

My Superstock models came with all necessary hardware and went on relatively easily. You don't mention which models you're referring to. I think there are at least 2 models--one of a more normal slender profile and the Superstocks which are noticeably wider. Thad Carey A15
