Has anyone tried this product on the bottom of the tank: http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/item.aspx?style=2684&department=662&Division=6 to reduce the gas boiling problem? albatross [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Hi folks, Did not get a response on this one before... Has anyone tried this type heat shield on the underside of the gas tank to prevent boiling? Thanks, albatross Moose Racing Heat Shield $22.99 - Aluminized heat barrier with adhesive backing - Foil-coated ceramic cloth adheres to body panels to protect plastic or fiberglass from engine or exhaust heat - One 18" x 18" sheet provides 324 square inches of superior heat protection [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

I take it you ride in the same zip code as Hell or something. I've never had gas boil in a tank or had vapor lock in any vehicle. Have you had this happen?? Kerry

Yes, it has happened to me. Stop & go in 95+ heat when tank is below 1/2.... More than a few of the group have had issues with gas boiling and I like a good engineering challenge. I will try the stuff and provide a few pics and a report after testing. albatross
