I remember seeing a pic of a KLR painted with a pebbly green finish, seemed like it was Rhino or something bedliner paint just brushed or rolled on. I'm tired of flat black. It looked like a dinosaur LOL. any one know who I'm talking about?

I repainted all my plastic with bedliner paint from Walmart (it is pebbly black though). The tank I painted in car type paint. criswell

I saw a bike for sale in the Las Vegas, High Desert area, I believe last summer, that had been Rhino lined. Looked like it didn't much matter which side was up. Seems like there are a lot of other alternatives without making your bike look like a reject from the La Brea tar pits (my opinion only). Heresy I know, but I really like the look of my new, polished, chrome lookin' Big Gun Header pipe contrasting some of those dark colors. Reminds me a little of a vintage Triumph - without leaks, electrical problems and that I can count on to go farther than a tank of gas or two. Chuck C San Diego

I'm in the process of doing the beadliner paint job on my '88. The paint and graphics were in pretty sad shape, and I really didn't want to be seen on a baby blue bike anyway. I have painted the fairing, side panels and handguards with Napa bedliner, which has a medium pebbly texture. The bedliner WILL NOT stick to the bare plastic. After having several attempts fall right off, what seems to work is Krylon Fusion as primer. I put down two coats of semigloss black then several coats of bedliner and it finally seems to be sticking. I left the fenders white, and I installed a white IMS tank, so it has an interesting monochromatic look. I'll try to post pictures later. Dave C
