I have had a Euro Silverstar in my KLR for 11.5 months and no problems so far. I ordered it from http://www.murphskits.com/shop/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=15&cat=Lighting

not dot headlight bulbs

After trying, and not liking, a so called "blue" high intensity bulb when I first got my 02 I bought a Philips "Vision Plus". That was spring of '03 and 13k miles ago. I'm still happy. I did add a 3/16" thick piece of self adhesive clear 3M film, no problems. Theses are approved for DOT, USA and Canada.

I use 10lb and a 15lb tanks for filling the 33's on my Jeep. I'll bet that a pound of CO2 would get you at least five inflations on your bike. I've thought about this quite a bit. The sticky point is how to adapt the little paintball tanks to CGA320 for a pressure regulator. If somebody were to mass-produce a tiny low-flow fixed regulator that mates directly to a paintball tank and has a 1/4" NPT outlet, I'll bet it would sell. I'd buy such a setup in a heartbeat. As it stands, reasonably small fixed regulators with a CGA320 input and 1/4" NPT output are readily available for $35-40. If you figure something out, let me know. CO2 stores as a liquid which means that a small tank goes a long way. RM

Google Sylvania Silverstar .........look past the sites that are obvious retail sellers of the product. Here are three, and there were lots of others Daniel Stern is the best resource I've found for lighting. If yours are lasting 11.5 months you are lucky. Are we talking about the same product? months. I am using the Phillips Vision +50 and it has been in my KLR for a year now. I do try to toggle between using low beam and high beam during the day to even out wear on the low and hi filaments.
