Ordered up a Moose Skidplate for it yesterday.Im not too fond of the

best mod for the bike i hear without a doubt.

sherpa yahoo group--owner/moderator),,
Also, I picked up a 2006 vulcan Drifter 800 a few moths back,and own

Welcome and congrats on your new bike! Make sure you check out our FAQ (there's a link to it at the bottom of every email message), and then some of the more notable sites referenced in the "Links" section of the FAQ. ... and don't forget that when you hit reply, the default email goes back to
the sender, unlike the Sherpa group. You'll have to change the "To:" line to
the group.
Dr J is the jetting guru of the Super Sherpa world. I'm sure he'll make some
good contributions to the KLR group.
Good to see you here!

This is all I see on my screen:
There is a link to the Faq only if you have HTML enabled in your email program, which I don't, safer that way. The link used to show up in text only before Yahoo changed their mail format. I bought my 05 Incredible Hulk new in Feb 06, on the experience of a
friend who got 140000 km out of his KLR, which was still going strong
when he sold it. I think he did mostly on-road miles, including a trip
round Australia, plus a stint of commuting 80 km each way with about
half on freeway at speeds around 120 km/h I'd guess. He'd never heard
of the doohickey problem, and neither have any of the dealers or the
distributor here in Aus, or so they say.
Incidentally, he now drives Sydney buses for a living. I'm sure the
experience of piloting the KLR was a good apprenticeship for the bus
driving, though the buses may be lighter
