I had one for about a year. To tell the truth, I don't know why I got
rid of it. I miss going off road every now and then. The black one is
looking good. I might just be back on a KLR soon.

I have changed mine. It was fine, but I feel better. My buddy wanted
to change his as well. So we did the job. The hikee was fine and the
spring was fine, but. The aluminum case where the hickee is supposed
to slide against when you go to do an adjustment was nicked. Probably
by the factory because his bike only had 3000 miles and the case had
not been opened since it left the factory. You could take the
adjustment bolt all the way out and the hikee would not move. It was
captured by the nick in the case. We did the upgrade and got a fine
file and took the nick/burr out of the case to make the new hik slide
easily, like it should. Just one more reason to open up the case and
take a look at what you might have going on inside.
Regards.
