Post by chukd_wfs » Wed May 10, 2006 8:41 pm

Alright,I am going to lay this out for you. I'm 5'8 with a 28-29" inseam AND I weight 325. How low can I take a KLR and have it still support me. I sat on one a few days ago and I had to use my tiptoe to touch the floor. I WANT A KLR but I dont know if I can make it work for me. CAN I make it work for me and if so, how? Thanks in Advance, Chuk

Have the shop check that the rear shock preload is set to low (1, I think) and try it again. With 325 pounds in the saddle, you should be compressing the spring pretty well at that setting. Thicker soled boots make a big difference, too. Also, how much foot do you want on the ground? Tip toes on both feet is about what I have on my DR-Z, I get the balls of my feet to the ground on the KLR. You get used to it. __Arden 5feet8, 31" inseam

production number for tengais...

Hi listers; The motorcycle is a low-miler 1991 Tengai. Objective is to determine if low enough production to qualify for collector status, major cost difference for insurance. Can anyone direct me to the serial number records, or helpful contacts in the KHI company? Thanks for this group! Cheers, Pat.
