fuel line problem

Reading the messages on the subject I decided not to change the stock muffler or air filter. But, just wondering, does cutting the air filter case make any difference? If worth trying, would be the air filter more exposed (when washing the bike or whatever)? Thanks guys. Adrian (2005 KLR)

Hey Adrian, No..don't cut the L into your airbox.All that does is let in even more dirt and dust. the only way that airbox L mod might be beneficial, is if you were running an aftermarket pipe with a jetted up carb and a performance air filter.Other than that....you are wasting your time and energy cutting the airbox. revmaaatin, I don't know about Seafoam compatibility but the Por15 website says: "U.S. STANDARD FUEL TANK SEALER was formulated and developed in our own laboratories due to the demand for a high-tech sealer impervious to all fuels, including the new Stage II fuels which have a high alcohol content. It has superior strength and fuel resistance, and does not contain Methyl Ethyl Ketone, a highly flammable and deadly carcinogen (cancer-causing)." The site claims other tank coatings break down with high alcohol fuels so your statement may be true for Kream. I need to ask if you know that Seafoam is safe for use on the CVK40 diaphragm. My experience with other carb cleaners is that the diaphragm can be ruined by them. -Bryan
