klr650: is any one year more valuable? better?
If you were in Europe you'd just go into any Elf petrol (gas) station.

Yes but to get serious but is the 1996 C2 model I bought last week in
England any better or worse than the A model most of you North Americans
have.
There's a few differences mentioned in the BigCee FAQ but I have not found
the definitive comparison.
Are the wheels on the KLR600 and KLR650 A, B and C models interchangable?

Yes, Yes, Yes, they revisited, (burp), green in 06'.
Oh, but did they have to take the beautiful John Deere green, feed it
to the elfs and regurgitate the remains to "discover" a new Kawi
colour?
I believe KHI must be smoking their newspaper when it comes to
selecting new, KLR colours. The selection of the colour (I believe)
is actually an ownership loyalty test. The engineers want to see if
you are desperate to ride the most refined dual sport motorcycle of
1986, (at a very affordable price) in the most unusual colour
combinations.
What I am curious about, (same question asked here before) is if they
have developed a niche that works with the KLR, why they have not
offered an improved version that is closer to what most of us build
it up into. (I guess that would be the no-longer-available KLX 650.)
Perhaps the secret of KHI and the KLR is that they have realized that
it is better to offer the basic model, and allow the buyer to
personalize his/her machine. This allows the rider to believe how
much smarter than they are than the engineer/sales staff. Which, in
a twisted kind of way, developes a loyal fan base. You gotta admit,
when there is a bunch of these machines offered with less than 3000
miles, and many with less than 500-1000 miles, the owners either love
them or can't wait to get rid of it. Hooray for the 2d buyer.
Now. If only there was someone that lived closer to me that was
trying to dump another A-15, which of course is the most beautiful
model made. I had to drive 480 miles to get the first one...and I
had never seen a KLR 650, nor ever rode one when I picked this one
up, and not one regret. Fortunatly, I was able to parlay the drive
into visiting some friends that I had not seen for some time.
Isn't that why we really ride bikes like the KLR anyway? Any excuse
to convert gas to smiles?
(short commercial follows)
And did you know? The KLR, well known for its ability to carry you
to remote places, will even carry you to church!
revmaaatin. the sun is out and the forecast is more snow/cold in the
Sioux Empire
Thank you Mr./Ms KHI.

Harumph. Ms Louise, My 06 is really sexy black with racing green
highlights. Everybody knows black is the most stylish color of all.
How much more so with Racing Green highlights? Besides, it's quite
obvious that the '06 is the best year, since KHI improves the breed
so much each year!

Hi Larry,
Oh course there is a difference. When you siphon the gas from your
Euro-model bike, to give to those other bikes with the little, bitty
gas tanks, it will taste like...like...limes! LOL.
Oh, I would love to ride the North of England/Scotland on a KLR. and
Sicily, and Spain, and...
You are going to love this machine.
revmaaatin. whose siphoned gas taste like...like...gas. Yuck.

Any 100% Kawasaki year. Tuner-cycles are risky and less valuable. Less
is more.
