I was at a local restaurant a couple of nights ago and there was a small army of Goldwing riders from the local GW club having a meeting in the conference room. They were all wearing club vests with all the patches and pins from rallys that they trailered to.Anyway....when I was gonna look at the Goldwings in the parking lot. There was not one motorcycle to be found....cause it was drizzling rain a little...they had drove cars and trucks. What a bunch of P U boys. Regards,Gary

daystar fork boot problem (klr content! woot!)

I've been having an ongoing problem with my front suspension alternately feeling like it's too hard, then too soft, and then back to too hard. While riding, as long as the sun was right, I would squeeze the front brakes while peeking at the shadow of the front fender and wheel. The front end would dip down and not return. Then I would goose the throttle and the front end would rise up and not come back down. Potholes and other bumps were painful to cross. I replaced the "old" Progressive springs with new "Larry Roessler" versions. I changed the preload spacers up and down. I increased the fork oil viscosity. I replaced the REAR suspension with Progressive's complete shock. I adjusted the rear preload up. I adjusted the rear preload down. I removed my K-9 fork brace. I replaced my K-9 fork brace. I raised the fork tubes in the triples. I lowered the fork tubes in the triples. I removed the lowering links and replaced the stock links. No help. Finally, I was trying to see the fork seals (replaced the same time the Daystars were installed) and had a devil of a time getting the boots to move up the fork far enough to see the seals. That's when the lightbulb went on. I hiked them all the way up and hopped on and, suddenly, the forks were forking properly again. Several generous sprays with WD-40 (man, I love that stuff) and the boots were sliding smoothly. A test ride proves that the suspension is now working, but I'm wondering how long the WD-40 treatment lasts. Has anyone ever experienced this before? Is the WD-40 trick in the manual and I just didn't read it? I got them from Fred when I bought my replacement seals, so I assume they're the right ones! Dirk /starting the process of trying to get the suspension set up again after all that fiddling around...
