Has Zachs project seen the light of day? If not (I don't want to tread on anyones toes), I have an alternative. I have a MySQL database of the DSN list and have done a basic php web interface to get stuff out. I am looking for two things, one a bit of help (Erik ?) with expanding the web page (i'm not a programmer) and two somewhere to host it. The database is about 200Mb at the moment and I,m looking for a free/cheap webhost that caters for "not for profits". Here in Australia web hosting is quite expensive $A20 per month. Any ideas welcome. Thanks Gavin A18 Victoria, Australia

I can help with the coding, though there might be a better php dev on the list (Professional necessesities have forced me to specialize on microsoft technologies, but i can still do php). If anyone here is a php specialist and wants to help, speak up or you're stuck with an asp.net developer remembering php from years ago doing it ;) I do have a (linux) server, but I'm quite sure my meager 80kB of upstream bandwidth would be decimated by hosting the archive on it, so I can't really help with the hosting. erik

Thanks to the group for their help, Erik for assisting with the coding and John Biccum for free website hosting. We will keep you up to date with developments, as the database exists it shouldn't take too long to get it up & running. Gavin A18 Victoria Australia

Just to let those of you who use my searchable archive that I updated it yesterday to include a starting year field. This means faster searching if you're only looking for more recent material. I have updated both Freds portal at:- http://www.angelfire.com/ut/moab/klr650_data_search.html and my site with enhanced searching at:- http://dsnklr650.gavinmac.com There were probably a few hours earlier today where Freds new page was not linked properly (my fault), I think the people affected were searching for windshield and oilchange, try again if you want. Just a reminder that the Quicksearch via Freds page only searches for a single word of four or more characters. If you want multi word or multi phrases use my page. Thanks Gavin A18 Broadford Victoria Australia

next generation klr (rider)?

Post by Dale Steele » Sun Aug 14, 2005 10:02 pm

I got a kick out of seeing post 2000 (green) KLR rolling through downtown Sacramento this morning with the youngest rider I've seen on one. He had his skateboard strapped on the rack in back which was also a first for me. I'm thinking he was set up to boost that thing under either tire in case of a flat and just scoot his way back home. Now why didn't I think of that? Not getting nearly enough riding in myself. Dale A15 Sac __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
