no headlight

I thought my bulb crapped out so I replaced it with a new one and it still won't go on. I then looked at the wiring diagram and noticed there is an on-off headlight switch. It's on the diagram but I'll be damed if I can find it on my bike. Also, the first bulb doesn't look burned out and is only about 3 months old. Any ideas out there would be greatly appreciated. Will

Have you checked the fuse? :) They can blow if one rolls the swtich slowly from low to high - it blows as both filaments are to much for the stock fuse. Many people up it to 15 amps, from the stock 10, IIRC........ All the best, Mike Eagle Mfg & Eng since 1990 San Diego, Ca

My guess... remove the seat, remove the blown 10 amp fuse and put a 15 amp in there.. never popped one yet using a 15 amp. Dooden A15 Green Ape --- In DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com, "will gilmore" wrote:

To all who responded - thank you and know that you were all correct. The fuse was the culprit. Thanks for another lesson. Will

Post by kevin betts » Tue Aug 09, 2005 12:34 pm

I am still having problems with my 1989 KLR 650 ignition, last spring I posted and got some good advice thanks . the bike runs fine most of the time but when the ignition stops sometimes just for one second or like the other day for more than 10minutes then it just starts running fine with out any interuption for weeks of driving . cold or hot doz not matter it can be when I first start the bike or at the end of the day of hard ridding . I have ben throughout all the wiring and conecters three times cleaning and moving the wires with the bike running tring to find a brake or short .so now i am looking for a used cdi unit for sale thinking and hopping there's the problem If someone has a CDI unit for sale please contact me kbetts53@... thanks kevin b.
