TWO??? I don't see how anybody gets by with less than four: 1. Touring/ sport touring bike 2. DS/Adventure tour bike (KLR) 3. DS/trail bike 4. Sport/cafe bike Holding it to four is only possible because of the KLR, and still requires you to forego: 5. Woods bike 6. Track bike 7. Hooligan bike 8. Trials bike 9. Vintage mx or enduro 10. east European tiddler 11. sidecar rig 12. japanese classic 12. Brit classic 13. Italian classic 14. Modern italian bling If you have kids, the ante only goes up from there. Tell her you are just getting started. Jud "One's too many, and a dozen's not enough".

your saying my KLR isn't a #5,#6,#7,#8,#9,and last but not least #12? Much less #1,#3? The heritage of the venerable KLR runs deep, runs deep. -----Original Message----- From: Judson D. That kind of thinking doesn't help you bring home more bikes, now does it?

I would say the number one reason to own an SV over a KLR is exactly why Lew owns one, two up touring. Nobody is going to enjoy getting into the rougher stuff with someone on the back, so the SV makes a lot of sense. Also hanging with the 80 MPH highway crowd is a lot more enjoyable on an SV. R DSN_klr650@yahoogroups.com Subject: [DSN_klr650] NKLR - Any SV owners out there Howdy, I just picked up an SV650 this weekend and looked into joining a Yahoo! site for this bike. I thought there would be some pretty active groups 'cause I thought this was a reletive popular bike. Unfortunately, nothing comes close to this great group! Any member out there even own/currently own an SV and have a good site to recommend? Bonsall Baron P.S. Fiance wants to know why I need two bikes? Guess I'm just a simple guy, with a simple bike, simply trying to get on down the trail/road. -----Original Message----- From: Judson D. Jones [mailto:judjonzz@...] Sent: Monday, December 20, 2004 10:17 AM To: DSN_klr650@yahoogroups.com Subject: [DSN_klr650] Re: NKLR - Any SV owners out there

Just tell her you have to have one for yourself, and one for the two of you to spend time on. Or better yet let her think the second one is hers. Joe A 18 SE Ky --- In DSN_klr650@yahoogroups.com, "Judson D. Jones" wrote:

I won't be helping you much but here is my experience. I started with a Road King which I got in early 2001. My wife loves it because she can go to sleep on the back seat. Then I got a Sportster for her and she never learned to ride. I pumped it up to 1200cc and put almost 20,000 miles on it. I got an SV1000s because I wanted to go fast and do track days. I got a KLR650 to go Adventuring. What happened: I did 5 track days and decided I couldn't and didn't want to be fast. I could go as fast as I wanted to and way faster than I was allowed to on the KLR. Sold the SV and the Sportster. Ride the KLR every day and the Road King sits waiting for my wife wanting to go for a ride with me. Your results may very. --- Joseph Jones wrote:

You've got a lot invested in your bikes, not to mention your wife. Does your Road King have high speed handling problems? OK you wags I know it's not capable of real high speeds; I'm asking about 85/90 mph. Bogdan
