upgrades to do during insurance repair job?grips, bars, pegs????
Since that person from a spanish speaking island hit and ran my
bike, insurance covers everthing no deductible.
So, which alu bars are the best?
So, which grips? gel grips?
And what dirt style footpegs will fit?
Thanks,

I just got done doing my 5th KLR "Setup" and once again these are a few of the items I added which make riding the KLR all the more fun to ride: 1. Renthal alluminum bars (from Dual-Star) helps reduce vibrations, don't bend, look cool. 2. Acerbis hand gaurds and wind deflectors. 3. Progrip Gel grips. Feel great and reduce vibrations. 4. Dual-Star low vibrationn mirrors. (they are just honda mirrors but work great. 5. IMS off road pegs. Big, strong, look cool, bolt on. Your posts and attitude are so offensive to me that I swore I would not
involve myself in this thread, but here I go.
Your ONLY right to recovery is what was actually on the bike. The insurance
covers ONLY everything that WAS THERE - not what you WANT. You are asking
about comitting insurance fraud and if you do so, you deserve to join your
neighbor in jail.

I might be wrong but I understood from what he wrote that he would take the insurance money for the actual damage done to his bike and use it to buy after market parts, not try to get the insurance company to pay the full cost of the after market parts. Jeeez.... I think that makes you, and maybe one other guy who passed the bar who talks like that. Responsible for your own actions? Entitled to only what was actually damaged? Crazy! Meanwhile the other trial lawyers are lobbying to have handgrips installed on the backs of ambulances, so they can ride along like it was a fire truck..... But relax- According to most insurance companies, "damaged" also includes cosmetic damage, etc, anything required to return the vehicle to it's pre-accident condition. Nearly all the stock parts (including things like handgrips and bars) are more expensive than the superior quality aftermarket items. Not to mention the insurance also pays for having the replacements installed by a mechanic- if the policyholder chooses to do the work himself and use the labor money for other things, that's his decision. I second your sentiments. I have been trying to ignore these posts as well.

galfer front pads
Replaced the front pads with Galfer greens the other
day and added a stainless break line too. Have got
better braking now. I like it lots. However, between
medium to heavy breaking , I hear a "grrrrrrrrrrrr"
sound and can feel it in my butt and hands too. Feels
like the drilled disk is grinding the pads away but I
doubt that is so. Got about 60 miles on them so far
and havne't seen any break pad dust anywhere. At this
point it's just annoying, not dangerous (that I know
of). Any ideas what could be making that sound and
vibration after switching betwee nstock and Galfer
green pads?
Tim
