just finished valve clearance check . . . is this noise normal???

has anyone found a set of rectangular turn signals that the threaded portion is long enough to go through the rear carrier ?(mount in same position as the round ones.)could,nt get an answer from lockhart- phillips on threaded length and ones at dealer were,nt. any help would be greatly appreciated. j.c.(hondas my car) proudly owns an A17 (lean, mean,green earth-shakin'machine)

Just finished valve check and set clearance as close to maximum spec as possible for. Started up the bike and noticed I get a pronounced tap-tap-tap . . . .I figure it's the valves. I read somewhere that more noise is normal if you set to maximum spec. Is valve tapping the noise that is refered to?? Is there any adverse effects from this??? Otherwise the bike runs and performs fine. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
