Maybe because Works Performance has already been doing it for a while now. WP builds their shocks to suit the rider and style, with adjustable preload and 21 rebound settings, and their non-reservoir shock is probably comparable in cost to the F1 unit (though I could be wrong). Beefy and rebuildable, too. My Ultracross (with external reservoir) was around $550 when I bought it, but now it looks like they've gone to $650 or so. Krokko -- Dr. J.
