Can't speak to that particular one. I have the other one - the one where they DON'T mention using it as a back rest. It definitely does detach and I've had no problems with it whatsoever. jtw

I recently mounted a JC Whitney travel trunk. The install was a snap. $57 + $12 and well worth it. Fork springs will be next.

Me,too. I thought I'd broken it as I uploaded 4 photos (I think) and then it kept showing the error thing. Is it possible the alloted memory for this site's photos is full ? I sure hope I didn't mess it up ! Steve
