very vague question
5 wires isn't it? Or six- High speed ign coil, low speed ign coil,
pickup coil, and three phases of AC off the starting coils? All in a bundle.

very vague question
8 wires. 9 if you include the neutral switch.

very vague question
AH hell, I may be wrong - the one constant is that all the wires are CLOSE
together and exit in front of the forward chain sprocket.
Gee, ya guys are tough

(the weakest) master link
X-ring denotes the special cross-sectional shape of the rubber sealing rings. The special shape is supposed to work better and last longer than o-rings. The best connecting link is NOT easily field repairable - it is the ZJ riveted connecting link. The "problem" with the ZJ is that it takes a special $120 (DID KM500) riveting tool to properly install it (or an equipped dealer type). The problem with easily repairable (loose clip) links is that they are also easily destroyed. When they go, it is often not just a case of putting on another master link. The chain can wrap around the front sprocket and wreck your motor or wrap around the rear sprocket and wreck you! What's the sense in an 8,000 PSI chain with a 4,000 PSI master link? Remember the adage about a chain being as strong as its weakest link? Still true. DID recommends riveted links for applications that were originally equipped with endless chains. Having recently researched this and repented of my own sinful ways, my plan is to replace the offending clip style connecting link with a proper ZJ riveted link. I may carry the clip style links, a bit of chain, and a chain breaker to use in an emergency just to get me back from the boonies to civilization.
