Hello all, I am thinking of getting a klr650 but am also considering an xr650l. If anyone has thoughts on this (pros cons) let me know, thanks in advance. Steve

KLR vs XRL long range vs. short range better on the street vs. better in the dirt liquid cooled vs. air cooled tall vs. taller heavy vs. almost as heavy luggage rack vs. no rack 1980's tech vs. 1990's tech That said, I've done two Utah trips with a friend who rides an XR650L with a bigger tank and aftermarket rack and he does just fine when the temps are in the 90's. __Arden

There is a rather noticeable difference in the overall ergos too if you are long legged you will find the KLR a lot roomier. Then again the lower peg position of the KLR could be a deficit in certain terrain. I find the more stretched out position and broader seat of the KLR compared to the XR's or the DRZ to be a huge benefit for the mostly street use I put the bike through. I would be much more inclined to get a KTM, a DRZ400S or an XR650R On Thu, Apr 01, 2004 at 11:54:31PM -0000, Arden Kysely wrote: > KLR vs XRL > > long range vs. short range > better on the street vs. better in the dirt > liquid cooled vs. air cooled > tall vs. taller > heavy vs. almost as heavy > luggage rack vs. no rack > 1980's tech vs. 1990's tech > > That said, I've done two Utah trips with a friend who rides an XR650L > with a bigger tank and aftermarket rack and he does just fine when > the temps are in the 90's. > > __Arden > > > > --- In DSN_klr650@yahoogroups.com, "sbrummun" wrote: > > Hello all, I am thinking of getting a klr650 but am also > considering > > an xr650l. > > If anyone has thoughts on this (pros cons) let me know, thanks in > > advance. > > > > Steve > > > > List sponsored by Dual Sport News at www.dualsportnews.com.
