Oh, that was the BMW servo-assist linked steering option. I've heard that it's hell out in the desert when that dies on you, needs some sort of computer diagnostics port to reset it.

Yeah. I was riding on a fairly well maintained forest road in northern Arizona a couple of weeks ago. Coming the other was was a GS1150. We stopped and talked for a bit. It was Jennifer. She said had to drop out of sight after she got the Beemer. Traded her KLR in on it. Said the KLR scared her to death. It was always countersteering and wheelieing all over the place. Ron
