Well, I was out for a ride today. Some mud, some water (in the mud of course) not too deep at all really. Anyways, when I got home I parked the bike, opened the garage door and came back to see the tach jumping all around. I gave it some gas and the motor died. I fired it back up and it did the same thing for a little bit (teach jumping around) and then all was fine, at-least from the time I started it till I put it in the garage. I remember this coming up before on the list and cannot seem to find it anywhere though. Anyone have any thoughts on this? I am hoping all will be fine when I go out tomorrow to ride the bike, but if not I would like a few ideas to take on. OHH, if it really matter much, it is a 01 650. TIA Brian

I woould open all the connectors between the instruments, the CDI, the stator, the coil, and the tach- clean and grease them. This wasn't done at the factory, if you are going to ride mud and water crossings you'll have lots more electrical gremlins later on if you don't take care of this now. Devon A15-Z
