Just finished replacing the doohickey. My question is regarding the
shaft that the doohickey slips over. I removed it,put the new
doohickey on and replaced it. How tight do I have to make the shaft?
It seems like it's meant to be adjustable from the outside. BTW, the
doohickey was BROKEN. I cannot find one of the bits that broke off.
Should I be worried?

It looks as if Whitehorse Press actually sells the Kisan
SignalMinder, described here:

Kisan's product catalog and Whitehorse Press' web page agree that is
is the model "SM-2" SignalMinder that fits the Kawasaki KLR650.
