Hi,
thanks to all the replies. The mechanic ( not Kawasaki as they didnt
want to know me) has pulled both covers off and no obvious things but
there was some rubber particles in the strainer. Any ideas what that
could be?
regards
Anthony

Most often they are little pieces that have broken off the rubber cushions on the balancer sprockets. If so they are black and quite hard rubber. Every motor I have worked on has had some of these. Another source for the little particles of black rubber is the balancer chain guides, and the cam chain tensioner. Inspect the guides and tensioner to be sure these are not wearing too fast and then don't fret about them. For the bad noise, is it a clack, a clank, a knock, or a whirring kinda noise? How were the valves? At spec or too tight? What year is the beast? Any mods to the engine? Good luck, Mark> motor I have worked on has had some of these. > Regards, > Kurt Grife > >
