quick flat tire fixes?

Hey, I go through a few sets a year and was wondering if anyone found a better alternative.... Something unbreakable would be nice but I'll settle for cheap. Adam A14

I use some universal fit type from Lochart Phillips, $15 a pair oval aluminum body.Not DOT but it'll take a LEO with a KLR to know it.Dual filiment type so you can hook up running/clearance lights too. 4 for the price of one OEM ain't bad either Mike T .

One thing I did on my woods beater was to remove the rubber stalks and tuck the signals closer to the bike in order to keep them off the ground. Mark

Seems to me that the issue with the rear KLR signals is not so much whether replacements are unbreakable, but whether they are short enough to not take a fall on the side. I'm looking at the Lockhart Phillips Short Stalk II's with the dual filament. These are much cheaper than OEM, and at 3 or 3.5 inches are shorter, and are available dual filament to use as running lights and turn signals. I have Happy Trails Original Side Racks, which should privide some additional clearance. Order clear lenses and paint the insides with that stained glass translucent red paint someone else on the list mentioned to make them legal-like. Has anyone tried these signals, with or without the Racks? Are they indeed tucked in enough to prevent damage in a fall? The Mule

I'm running L-P signals like that,can't remember model# but the same size you mention. As for ripping them off well...I managed to destroy my start button soooo.... I'll know after my next good fall. : ) Mike T
