nklr - kbc vr-x helmet

Since we can't get the Aria Tour Cross helmet in North America, this might be a good alternative. Has anyone ever tried this helmet? It also can switch between a visor and shield. http://www.kbchelmet.com/snow/vrx/index_h.htm This might be a good second helmet, the price is right. Bryan K A14

I have to agree with both sides on this one. My work vehicle is a 4x4 Dodge Club Cab Pick up with Blue Strobe lights, and Siren, that has been likened to a UFO while running emergency at night, and my second job is with the County EMS driving / riding in a Ambulance with 2 100 watt sirensand lights all over. I have a Drifter 1500 that came with V&H Longshots when I bought it. And my KLR 600 has factory exhaust that sounds like a John Deere tractor with a Tweety bird in the manifold. While responding in the emergency vehicles, I have people 1/2 mile away pull over while the car 100 yards in front of you just tools along in a world that most humans will never visit. Usually to Slam on the brakes in the worst possible spot, and wonder why you dont pass them in a blind curve on an uphill grade. My house is 10 miles from town, through the National forest, so there are no houses, and lots of wildlife. Modern vehicles are manufactured so you can roll up the windows, and turn up the radio and be totally oblivious in comfort. So, I dont think anything short of a neuclear holocaust or yard sale sign does much to attract the attention of these people. However, I have had quite a few close calls with wildlife on the KLR, and the drifter I have had none. All I can think is that the animals usually run away from drifter and dont hear the KLR coming. So, depending on your surroundings, I think both sides are correct. Rich Waite ___________________________________ Sent via PRTC Webmail, http://www.prtcnet.org
