Group,
I noticed Rider Wearhouse s Holiday 2002 catalog is selling a book by a
former KLR lister - Andres Carlstein. It is a book about his ride on a
KLR650 to the southernmost tip of South America. I read it several
months ago and really enjoyed it. I thought that it gave a pretty
accurate feeling about long distance riding in strange countries.
Meeting new people, trying to tolerate your riding companions, trying to
get your bike fixed in the middle of nowhere, learning new customs like
how to bribe the local customs/police officials, etc.
If you are thinking about a long ride in South America or like
motorcycle adventures, you might want to add it to your Christmas wish
list.
