still need help in antigua

I need to know step by step how to go about charging the battery on my A15. I haven't ridden it in a while due to a new job and need to know the proper way to charge it back up. It has a little charge but not enough to turn it over. I have an automotive 12 volt trickle charger, will this work? Thanks in advance from the mechanically declined John

yes a 12 volt automotive charger will work fine ..... make sure the battery is full of acid and charge it at 1 to 2 amps per hour for at least 4or 5 hours.... --- booger67 wrote:

Use distilled water to fill the battery if it's low. (wish I would use my own advice). Set your charger on the lowest charging setting if it has more then one. The best thing you can get is a battery tender. They sell them in most moto-mags. They charge and then shut off at the right charge. But you still have to keep an eye on the water level in the battery. Trickle charging is important, a quick charge car charger can damage motorcycle batteries. Be careful to hook the right leads when you hook on the charger Positive to positve, negative to negative. I ve done all the ignition system diagnosis I can possibly do without further assistance from the manual. I ve been trying to follow along with my partners DR650 but it s just too different. That s right, I left my manual(s) at home becuase, you know I wouldn t need them Specifically, I need the procedures to test out the CDI, the Coil (correctly) and anything else listed on the ignition system.
