Early april 2000? we have been here much longer than that. there was a thriving (stable, and ad-free) list well before yahoo... ----- Fred and interested listers, After exhaustive *analysis of the members table in the DSN_klr650 database, I am please to let you know that Ron and Fred have been continuosly subscribed to the list since it moved to Yahoo Groups in early April of 2000.

Well it appears to be Fred, so I say he deserves a prize, just because. Hey Fred, look around your store, find something you like, and take it. ... :-) Dave PS ... Your welcome :-)

Ok, you guys are killing me here. Here's the official Whitehouse Press Release clarification for those of you that didn't pass Critical Reading 101. I've cut and pasted a few emails to try and clarify, so try to stay with me here. :^) And feel free to harshly respond, with big screaming capital letters. I promise there will be no reprisals, banning or undue (key word is undue) abuse from me. :^) Fred Hink wrote:

I > have been continually subscribed from the start of the KLR list. > > Fred So, we know Kurt started the list with the above guys. Ron and Fred were the only ones that did not unsubscribe at some point, so its either Fred or Ron that has been here the longest (or a tie). We can all agree on that, no? So, checking Yahoo's membership records (I can't check any other membership records from the previous servers like the list serv, or eGroups, because they don't exist), I see that Ron signed up with the Yahoo Group DSN_klr650 group one day earlier then Fred (4/5/00 vs 4/6/00). I would say it is a tie, because during the transition there may have been technical reasons, or notification reasons, why Ron beat Fred by one day (not to mention no one knew it was a contest). :^) If you HAD to have a winner, the tie breaker goes to Ron. --- In DSN_klr650@y..., "Peter Dahlheimer, MD" wrote: > Early april 2000? we have been here much longer than that. there > was a thriving (stable, and ad-free) list well before yahoo... No shit, never said it wasn't. But as I stated above, the only records available are the Yahoo Group records. So when I wrote: "...Ron and Fred have been continuosly subscribed to the list since it moved to Yahoo Groups in early April of 2000..." I was not implying that we didn't exist before that. On the contrary, that's why I added the term "...since we moved to Yahoo Groups..." . And note that Fred said, that Kurt said, that Fred and Ron were with the original group of subscribers when it was a list serve group. So if Kurt is correct that Fred and Ron are the only ones out of that group that did not unsub, then the only other records we can check are the Yahoo Groups records, because they are the only ones that exist. Does everyone agree with that? And Arne is the earliest signed up member to the list on Yahoo Groups (the only one I can check). He signed up on 4/4/00. Everyone else is after that, from 4/05/00 forward. --- In DSN_klr650@y..., imperial-4776@w... wrote: > > Well it appears to be Fred, so I say he deserves a prize, just > because.... Again, I would say its a tie, but if you had to have a winner, techincally, Ron shows up as signed on to the list a day earlier (sorry Fred, no offense intended, just the facts man), so he would be the winner, IMHO. So Ron deserves a prize, but since he's on "Web Only" he's possibly not seeing any of this. Someone should notify him of his honored status of being the oldest continuous member, or co-longest continuous member. Everyone agree to that? Fred, you deserve a prize for being Fred, the awesome knowledge contributor and cycle-parts retailer extraordinaire. You also may deserve a prize for co-oldest continuous member. Everyone agree to that? Ok, I'm done being an *** (insert your favorite adjective). Everyone agree to that? :^) Ed
