I would like to hear the plus and minus of the 250 KLR vs. the 250 Super Sherpa. What are the strong and weak points of each bike? Thanks. Steve in Eugene

I think that point may be debated. Even with it's lower center of gravity and seat height, it has as much, maybe more, ground clearance than a KLR. Add the high fender and a set of Dunlop D606 tires and it would give a KLR fits off road. Gino

They have the same clearance but the KLR has about 3" more rear travel. The KLR weighs about 8 lbs more, is one inch higher in seat height and carries an extra 1/2 gallon of gas. Another significant diference is that the KLR is liquid cooled, FWIW.So it could be debated but what we need is a shoot out! __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? i had a sherps and it handled real well off road though it does need a better set of tyres the klr and sherpa are practically the same bike only the sherpa was made more to look good and use on the road basically its a lowered klr with a road fender better lighting and plastics and electric starter just looks good and rides well BUT i traded mine in for one very good reason the sherpa and the 250 klr are very narrow profile bikes they dont have any road power (top speed of the sherpa was 76 down hill with the wind behind) and they are practically invisible to other road users. if you want a dual purpose bike get the 650 klr its only about 800$ differance in price. and an extra 60$ for lowering links brings it down to the sherpas height. this is my opinion though i actually liked the sherpa just didnt suit my needs. paul ex a1? sherpa now a16 klr650 :P
