I've been thinnking about organizing a group ride on some local trails here in Ottawa, and I was wondering what components of this kind of ride have been a good experience for you guys in the past. Here are some questions that come to mind; Group size < 12 ? Is it better or worse to have a mix of experienced riders and less experienced so the new guys can learn from the more experienced ? How long is enough ( probably depends on the kind of trail ) 2, 4, 6 hours ? How frequent should the breaks be ( need to keep those fluid levels up ) ? While watching a motorcycle fundraising ride on Saturday with about 200 bikes in Redondo Beach, CA, I actually saw a KLR-650 with a sidecar! Pretty wild. Why wasn't I riding? My bike lives in Big Bear 100 miles away.
