I went to the local harley boutique (they also sell a few motorcycles) to enter a sweepstakes to win a Buell Firebolt, with a trip to Deal's Gap to ride with Eric Buell. Incidentally, I went to a websight a few weeks ago for enthusiest riders of the "Dragon". It looks like beautiful country. It's also in a part of the U.S. I've never been to. The Firebolt is 'bitchen! A Ducati 996 rider in full leathers was admiring the bike while I was there. I love contrasts in general, and this guy, in that shop, was quite a sight. I actually like the motorcycle part of Harley Inc., but I just can't picture my skinny Indian ass fitting in the mold as a "Biker". It is the perfect ass for a KLR though. I worked for a magazine that had a Buell roadrace team, so I know the bikes fairly well. I also had the pleasure of meeting Eric on a number of occassions. I also got to ride with him in the twisties once. Lemme tell ya - with years of roadracing under my belt I'm not a bad rider, but Eric is still seriously fast. great fun those bikes, especially the X1. Haven't ridden a `bolt. Looks great though. gord

Yep, if Harley ever gives Eric the V-Rod motor, watch out. I almost bought a Cyclone when in the market for a sporty bike, but ended up with a ZRX. I do like some of the new thinking in the Firebolt; fuel in frame, oil in swingarm. Great stuff. Gino

No rule that I know of that sez you have to play the "Biker" part to own a Harley. Just because a few yuppies think they can buy the image doesn't make it a standard for the rest of us "Motorcyclists" to follow. I owned (and rode) a couple of Harleys for years and never had a temptation to wear black leather all over my body in 95 degree weather, get a tattoo, or wear a "doo-rag". Heck, I even bathed regularly and wore a white helmet! ;-) I would have one now if I could afford both a dual-sport and a Roadking. Sonny
