They need to give listowners the option of paying a fee to remove ALL advertising.

But now you guys are talking about "babest babes", I'm starting to get jealous!! :) Steve A11 P.S. It's -35 C here tonight, about as far from motorcycling or beach babes as anyone can get!

I'm gonna make an assumption here. All of you who read this group on the web also have email addresses, ja? Why not read this group as email, instead of (bitching about he advertisements on) the web page? Am I missing a technological step here? jim

1. It's easier to read messages on the web when you want to pick-and-choose from certain subjects. 2. DSN_KLR650 appears to have been grand-fathered when Yahoo! bought out eGroups. Newly created lists all have ad taglines at the bottom of every e-mail message. As the owner of a newer list (SoCalDualSport and Solara), I cannot stop this from happening. RM

I use PINE running on a Unix shell account. It's an on-line thing, and all that mail uses workspace. If I ran "normal" software like you do then I wouldn't mind so much.

I just looked for the 3rd time and couldn't find it. Any pointers? RM

The problem here is the market is no longer carrying all these dot com companies. Most are struggling to find a business model that makes a prophet with a free service. Enter the Ads or start making people purchase subscriptions. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but we've only seen the beginning......... I don't know how many of you build your own systems or run non Microsoft operating systems, but Yahoo now has many ads that use flash animation. This and the extra xcam window is ruining Yahoo's reputation of being one of the fastest loading webpages on the internet. My boss is even having problems with these pop up crashing his computer! (like I don't have more important things to do....) Ads won't bring a dime if a site looses all their visitors! On a side note, I would find using the web site to read these messages very inefficient. I have a rule set up to put all messages from this list into a folder. You could even create a hotmail account just for this list and configure outlook express with a new intently to receive hotmail mail. Even though a little time would be required to set up, in the long run you would be reading messages in alot less steps compared to the web based way.......... I pay $30/month for a UNIX account. I've been doing this for 12 years. I have no ads, no pop-ups, no auto-launched browser pages. I use a mailer that refuses to even display html text, just tells me what it was and I can throw it away or bounce it to netscape. If I was more paranoid, I could download the email to my local machine. I read mail at my speed. I'm not saying this is the way for everyone, but there are solutions to the ads problem, it just requires money thrown at it. Often, yours. jim, curmudgeoningly remembering when people used to trim their text, post their comments after the (trimmed for relevance) included text, blah blah blah

I'm a technological step ahead!! Now...... how did I do that!!??!! :) :) BTW Jim, I'm in Goose Bay, Labrador ( Province of Newfoundland & Labrador ), Canada. It has been cold. Very cold. Cheers, Steve
