Has any one installed a throttle lock on a KLR? I ordered one from Chaparral, but it was a piece of garbage and it did not fit (without mods). Thanks as always! I love that $ 8.00 piece of plastic that makes throttle locks obsolete. Takes seconds to install. Mental block.....what's it called ? Someone will know. Here I am volunteering others again. Bogdan

I have the good old Vista Cruise courtesy of Fred. They work fine, but with Renthal's and Pro-Grip gel grips, I hardly ever get a reason to use it. CA Stu

I had a brand "X" version of the throttle rocker, it was longer and worked fine...for about two months. It broke from the strain of being wrapped around my gel grips. I just got a throttle rocker, a bit more ergonomic (not that you can tell all that much with gloves on) and a bit shorter, at the same price. We'll see how long this one lasts. Twistgrip appliances come in three varieties, each addressing different needs. Friction devices reduce the effort required to hold the throttle open. Locking devices hold the throttle open without rider-assist. Friction devices can be adjusted to act as locking devices. Wrist rests reduce the effort required to hold the throttle open. Choose your appliance based on your need. The KLR has a light throttle pull. I see no need for a throttle friction or wrist wrest on a KLR. A throttle lock, however, is a handy device on any motorcycle. Freeing the right hand to adjust the mirror, shake out a cramp or pick your nose is a valuable capability. Throttle frictions set to hold the throttle open will function as locks but require deactivation or working against the friction when accelerating. The simplest, cheapest ($0), most effective and universal throttle lock is the coat hanger cruise control. I've installed them on bikes for twenty years, including my Y2K KLR. I thought they were common knowledge. Clint
