Well here comes the strange question of the day. I wish to take my KLR 650 with me out to the deserts of southern California. Much of the land is BLM and shooting is allowed there. I have several questions. First, the preformed plastic rifle cases one sees for ATV/off-road use look a little too much like a gun case to be very discrete. I would be concerned that such a case would raise the eyebrow of law enforcement. What ways could a fellow disguise the case? I have a golf bag I use when I go to the range in the jeep. I cover the bbls of the rifles with those cute little golf club warmers and nobody can tell. But the bag is too big to take on the bike. Second, I can separate the stock of the rifle from the barreled receiver to shorten it and store it in a smaller case. 25-30 inches. Any cases like this? And finally, I am a responsible motorcycle rider and shooter. In order to maintain a good image of off road motorcycle use should I just leave the rifle home and not do something so crazy that would harm an already delicate relationship with non-biking public? I have many such concerns. What to do with the rifle if I have to go into a diner/gas station/ (gulp) bank in an emergency. What if when I do crash, my rifle goes flying off into traffic and scares folks (not worried about the rifle. It is a $49 special from Romania (M-44 for those in the know)). Just looking for suggestions from those who have tried it. Jason.

Break it down, put it in a duffel bag with an old sleeping bag for padding, then throw some dirty underwear in on top in case someone gets curious and strap the duffle onto the rack. I don't think it's against the law to have it out of sight if it's inoperable. If you ride responsibly and shoot responsibly, who's to care? It's the shooting while riding that raises eyebrows. --- In DSN_klr650@y..., jasonfb123@h... wrote: > Well here comes the strange question of the day.
