It's a moot point anyway. I keep trying to hurl the fruit of my nostrils at those non-waving cruiser jerks and it just sticks to my fingers. Overhand, backhand, flicking, shaking - dammit that stuff is very tenacious! As soon as I start to dislodge a nice weighty glob from my dusty nose-mining paws it dries up into a crusty tan snowflake that floats away in the breeze. On the other hand, I *did* find a low-$$$ replacement for Loctite 242. RM

How do you know they are decent people? They might be practicioners of evil arts, like nude pinochle or something. And get a sense of humor, can't you take a booger joke, or are you just squeamish? Actually I don't waste em on Harley dudes, I use em to patch airleaks and help keep the tankbag from flappin in the breeze.

Actually for some reason this year almost everyone I've waved at has waved back. Perhaps my wave improved. I think the snobbery puts people off. The "if you dont ride a Harley you ain't shit" attitude can be a bit annoying, but the BMW guys can be even worse. Out here in the country, near Saint Cloud, I wave at the cages too. Reactions range from "What the fuck?" to running off the road trying to keep from seeing me. It's not cool to acknowledge a country bumpkin on his infernal "John Deere" motorcycle. -- bierdo Wave at everyone. It keeps them guessing . . . and once in a while, it makes someone's day.

You know I have found that most people wave. The select group I have found that do not wave or wave back are the Gen Y that have decided riding a motorcycle in shorts, a tank top, slippers and no helmet is cool. I am new to the riding arena but think it is really cool with the wave. Going down a side street or highway and have someone you have never seen before acknowledge you because you're on a bike.
