cost of 600 and 6,000 mile services?

Post by kl7ixi@yahoo.com » Mon Jul 16, 2001 8:17 pm

How proud of these services is Kawasaki? I'm interested in exchanging my BMW airhead for a new KLR650 and trying to look ahead for predictable expenses. Thanks, Michael

Personally, I dislike the "cruiser" look. I like the engine, and it sounds real sweet powering up the hill between 5 and 6 at Road America. Now if Eric Buell gets HIS hands on it, tweaks it a bit and then builds a sport bike? Well, maybe I can afford a used one in a few years!

Unlike your BMW the dealers of the big K (from what I have read here) don't adjust the valves at the 500 miles service but they charge you for it, I honestly don't know the costs but in a year the only maintaince $ this bike has cost me is oil, filters, $16 for 4 valve shims and a K&N air filter because the stock one is a PITA to clean. Although I am getting ready to replace the chain and sprockets. John A15 R1150GS R100S
