handlebar vibration!

Post by heeltoetoe@aol.com » Sun Jun 03, 2001 9:06 pm

A couple years ago I installed a Throttlemeister throttle control for the purpose of reducing right wrist fatigue on long interstate rides . Anyway, an added bonus was significant reduction in handlebar vibration. The Throttlemeister is constructed of stainless steel, and the unit looks like a bar end. The added mass attenuates vibration so that palm numbness is eliminated, at least for me. I would like to add that the kit comes with a matching left unit for visual symmetry and is very well made. The kit was ordered from Ride West BMW, and as I recall was orginally designed for BMW motorcycles. The manufacturer made an adapter to fit the KLR650 diameter handlebar. My longest one day ride was just over 600 miles almost all the way on I-95 in about ten and a half hours, including 2 fuel stops and completed with no aching wrist or numb hands. Damn! I didn't get to go to Moab this year. For a great follow up to Moab, come out for Enduraid http://www.geocities.com/enduraidrally/ Think of it as a Midwestern Moab with real beer, Indian reservation gambling, lush greenery, and of course cheese. This was a great ride last year, and promises to be an even better ride this year. So check it out! CAD\CAM Kenny S.Elgin, IL
