where do i go? nklr
i've been searching for a job for only a short time now, and it's becoming
overwhelming. i'll be ready to begin work (as an ER doc) anytime after July
15th. i want to go southwest, perhaps AZ, NM, UT, etc. thanks to my chosen
field, there are a ton of places i could go, and that's the tough part.
basically, i want someplace with alot of places to ride (offroad). most
everything else is secondary 8^). with the vast spread of this list, i
thought i'd poll for opinions/experiences.
where should i go?

--- In DSN_klr650@y..., "Peter Dahlheimer, MD" i want to go
southwest, perhaps AZ, NM, UT, etc. thanks to my chosen
part. Can't hardly go wrong there, pete. Southwest CO puts you is an awesome area with good food and convenient to about seven zillion miles of canyons you'll never be able to see all of. Of for that matter NW N.M. ought to be good for the same reasons.> field, there are a ton of places i could go, and that's the tough

As much as we'd love to have you here in NM, Pete, I'd have to talk you out of it. Doctors are leaving this state in droves because of low pay and over taxation of the medical field. I work for an HMO right now running statistics on the population's medical needs according to region and the need for doctors is dire statewide because so many have left. Until the state of NM figures out that it simply cannot rape medical professionals for every cent they make, the situation won't change. well, like i said, everything else IS secondary, at least to me. dedicated
ER docs get paid by the hour anyway. and when enough get chased out,
hospitals will quickly pay when they can't find docs to staff their ER's.
it seems to me the closer one gets to the four-corners area, the more
beautiful the land and the better the riding.
i just can't visit everywhere, so opinions like these from people who've
been there help alot.

Well, let's see...you're single, handsome (except for the green Kawasaki MX
suit you were), a nice guy, I would suggest Durango, Colorado...less than
three hours from Moab...7 hours to Denver and Salt Lake City...Purgatory for
skiing....yadayada...

I live in FL where there's no dirt or rocks. Offroad is near nonexistent. If I
had my druthers, I'd probably choose Central to Southern CA, or CO. Then you
could visit all the rest when it ain't so damned hot.
Just my 2 pesos

Peter, I remember last last year when you were helping me run errands for the rally, you made a comment that the girls in Moab looked so... what was the word you used? "Healthy" I think it was. Gino> skiing....yadayada... > > Kurt

Doc - I think you could go to Taos or Santa Fe, or somewhere in CO where rich
people go. You have a better chance of finding a rich woman. -Jennifer

Well, maybe Doctor Pete would like that husky-looking woman that walks back
and forth in front of the diner in Moab. Fred really likes her, she might be
available. Fred could introduce them?? She looks strong for Petey, and
probably doesn't need to use no steenking tire irons when he has a flat.
