No apologies please.
Maybe I over-reacted to you - I guess what I wanted to emphasise for the
benefit of newer riders looking to purchase a jacket is that light and comfy
won't necessarily protect you. I'm not a new rider but a few years ago I
almost bought the Light based on a few people's recommendations, and after a
crash I'm glad I didn't. No way in hell did you offend the list...and your
method of leather with Gore-Tex over is probably the best way to do it in a
hot climate...I live in the much wet Vancouver CA so a 'Stich works as a
one-suit solution here.

Who rides with a Teknic Mach One, with heavy Cordura and MANLY Kevlar
patches. Who also hasn't had to test it's pavement capabilities as of
yet. My gym shorts will surely go long before the jacket and my flip-flops
won't offer much resistance either. Hey it gets damn hot here in the
Desert, you don't want me to sweat to death in that jacket do you? ;')

Try this for maximum efficiency:
Some wise sage with too much time on his hands offered this idea. Run near
maximum air pressure for 1/3 of the expected tire life. Then run a little
bit less air pressure to start wearing the sides for 1/3. Then run
"normal" air pressure which would be determined by what needs to be worn.
He did it with his Michelins on a car and claimed to get over 75k on his
car tires using this method. I on the other hand don't have that kind of
time or inclination!
