I had progressive on an FJ1200 and when I moved to a CBR1100 XX the price on insurance went crazy so I moved to State Farm for a much better deal. At 03:41 AM 1/6/01 -0500, you wrote:

Street tires work real well on Slickrock.  Better find you a 11 or 12 tooth sprocket first.  HA   Fred

I called progressive today to find out how much it would be to add a FZ1 on with my KLR and XR, which is $140 a year for both now, and they told me it would be $1166 for all 3 bikes, so I think I'll try State Farm next week. I couldnt get ahold of my agent today. Anybody else know of cheap "performance" bike insurance? And what about Bandits, are they considered "performance" bikes too? Since they dont have a Z in thier name, maybe not.... I think the insurance companies charge more if the bikes name has a Z or R in it. I didnt put a deposit on the bike until I find out if I can get reasonable insurance. And they told me they only expect to get 1 black FZ1, and it wont be here till later in the summer. I kinda like blue anyway. motormark

Motormark, There is lots of talk on the Bandit list about how listers were going for a VFR or ZX and went with the Bandit, based on ridiculous insurance premiums. I told my company it was a GSF1200 and they put it on there for $170 full coverage, two others already on the policy. Bill still GOOPing up N. CA. (fixed the car window with it the other day)

Tonight on this list (bandits) they are having a "Wife Comparo Shoutout" so I am hoping to get pictures in order to issue a judgement....will forward if anyone is interested. Of course, they don't have such specific NKLR type subject line rules, they just post crazy stuff when they're not drag racing.

I got a Suzuki TL 1000 s V twin insured through Dairyland full coverage for 100 dollars a year,, Something about a V twin is not a real sport, It will rip the lungs out of a GSXR 750 and keep up pretty good with the R1s..... Shop around, Mike In a message dated 1/5/01 8:44:44 PM EST, moabmc@... writes: << I am sure that new Yamaha will be in the Performance Bike category, so shop around and you might find a deal like I did. Should I re-wired the magneto, or change the regulator ? Merci. Stephane Fontaine.
