more flat/ hozintal fender that look much cooler and perhaps less like to get windblown on the highway. Maier Inc. makes great universal "cheap" after market plastic. I seriously doubt if that would make a difference in wind blast. When the wind blows get as aggressive as it. Lean more, throttle up and adjust your lane position. Imagine your a stunt rider in the barrel collecting the dollar bills from the girls. Focus, lean, throttle and pray if it's real windy. "keep looking up" Why does everyone want to look like kewl BMW's? You just bash them fancy fender lights in "realtime". Twistin,24/7/365,the inner edge/Team Mental

Not so Zing. Much discussed in the past. The stock wind catcher does promote high speed handling problems that are cured with a cute low fender. Bogdan

So the theory goes Walt but........I've only spent one day travelling is serious mud; during one of my Mexican mis-adventures. When it was all over, the bike + myself were covered with mud/clay. The low front fender caused no problems what-so-ever. I am lusting after that fork brace though. First the bike has to deserve it. I'll have to fix my balancer system + cure my elusive stuttering problem if it reappears next heat wave. Bogdan

I have the stock front fender and it seems to work out o.k. in the heavy chinook winds we get here in Alberta. Most times it seems that the bike is on auto-lean mode and I can keep a straight trajectory when the wind gusts hit. Maybe the fender is adding a bit of countersteer? It does tend to give some lift to the front end tho. I'd like to try a lower front fender but i'm concerned that it will get in the way of the fork brace. Peter B BMWzzzing wrote:

in reality, high speed handling problems are cured by a good sized set of cojones, I,ve rung my A13 out at 90 to 100mph many a time, just hold on and compensate, makes the ride a little more interesting. krdr- we b underground.....

On my Tengai, I once had so much crap stuffed between the fender and the tire that the wheel stopped turning and the front end just plowed through the mud. When I got home, I promptly made a bracket to raise my fender 1". Mark B2 A2
