[dsn_klr650] headlights and wattage

I didn't get to ride the new one, I imagine it's even more of a blast than the older one. Tank under the seat, anti-lock brakes (not on dakar) and EFI ought to be pretty cool. I test rode the f650 and it rode fast, handled great, and brakes were 1st rate. What did I purchase the KLR 650. Why??? Price is $3000plus cheaper. after you buy the bike then there is the expense of options for the bike. I found I could completely equip my bike $1500. the f650 accessories run you $1500, for just the bags and liners. enough said, but you are not locked into bmw warranty trap that they do all maintence on the bike or you lose the warranty on the bike. I know that feeling. Seems every bike I ride I fall in love with. In the past 2 years I have bought 5 bikes because I love to demo them. Gonna have to break myself of that habit or my bank account will break. I wouldn't spend the extra $3k on accessories unless you count a new bike as an accessory to your existing bike(s). One of the days I hope to settle down and find the right girl, but what a blast it is now. Or you can split the difference and do what I did: get an Aprilia Pegaso. That way you can have a bike that: 1.does highway better than the KLR. 2.does offroad just as well or better than the Beemer. 3. Looks better than both thanks to that timeless Italian styling. 4. Allows you to avoid the yuppies and snobs on the BMWs and their patronizing dealers. 5. and lets you still hang out with the KLR guys, who are a lot cooler than everyone else.
