150 80/ 17

Post by Rick Adams » Sat Aug 19, 2000 6:02 pm

Dear collective; Has any one mounted a 150 80/17 on a KLR? After I removed the chain guard, I measured 20mm on either side of the stock 130 80/17. Before I order the expensive Pirreli MT 90's and mount them, I'd like to get some opinions. I was considering grinding some of the metal from the edge of the overlapping plate(not the welded box secton)on the swingarm to give me more clearance if necessary. Andy, I couldn't agree more! I've seen numerous friendships busted up over a dumped bike that wasn't paid for by the friend. Collision insurance isn't the answer, what with deductibles and paying more in premiums when you lose your "accident free discount" plus you no longer have a 'clean' driving record. I guess it's kinda like loaning money, only loan what you can afford to lose. Professor ========================== --- , aches@d... wrote:
