Haven't done any serious trails yet, but can say that the KLR carries my wife and I riding 2-up around town and on gravel/dirt roads with no prob. I weigh 255 and she weighs 120 (oops am I supposed to reveal that? OW! you don't have to hit me...OW!)

Have not gotten to that point on my 2000 model yet, but looking forward to the experience. Heard from others that it is a no prob thing. Good Luck, Dust A14 "Rhino" Man with BIG Grin (and a BIG Bear hug for the BMW Big Dog) P.S. Overall I love the KLR! Great Bike!
