nklr fantastic dakar story..or i would have not even made it to
So lets see.
Stu calls Steve an S. Head, and someone else points out that such language
is below the belt.
Rather than be an adult and apologize, Stu makes a big show of it and
threatens to fall on his sword, hoping to gain sympathy of other listers.
His ploy works.
Because Stu is POPULAR, some listers beg him to stay. In fact one of the
listers, who apparently can't distinguish between criticism and personal
attack, defends Stu, and another lister backhandedly joins Stu by also
calling Steve and S. head.
So, Stu gets away with hurling epithets at a fellow lister who had the
honesty and courage to express a view that challenged the paradigm and
ruffled some feathers.
This kind of behavior, and the flames that I am sure will follow this
posting, is bullying, and discourages others listers who think differently
than the vocal minority from sharing their views. Ultimately we all loose.
I don't want Stu to unsubscribe either. But I'd like to encourage the
Steves on this list to express their views. Opinions that challenge us or
makes us uncomfortable point to our own weaknesses. Diversity of opinions
can only make the list more interesting.

Man, sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't like seeing/hearing about that stuff. Onya for going through with it.
