Due to an impending move, I am reluctantly selling my '46 TC. I wanted
to offer it to the list first, so if anyone is interested, please
contact me directly. I am in Pittsburgh, Pa.

TC for sale

Post by Dave Osborn » Mon Jun 26, 2000 12:01 pm

Just posted a TC for sale for a friend who is looking to sell a yellow 1948
TC here in Rhode Island. I saw the car years ago, but don't remember many
details. I think he wants $15,000. He is going to drive it over to my house
in the next couple of weeks so I'll know a bit more about the car then.
Meanwhile, if anyone is interested, call Tom Fair @ 401-965-1600.

Hello all

I am seling my 48 California Black Plate TC EXU w/ XPEG (TF1500) engine
which has about 800 miles on it Since professional, No expense spared
rebuild. As an original California car it has no rust or dry rot and never
did.. Excellent condition and FAST. Red w/ beautiful black leather

PLUS I have the original, matching number, XPAG engine. Very rare as we all
know. The XPAG engine is disassembled. crank, block and head were all
magnafluxed with NO cracks. Also have rods, sump, oil pump, front cover,
etc

XPEG Engine was blueprinted, using new Moss forged crank, AEG122 cam,
lightened flywheel, head completly rebuilt.

Trans is perfect with new clutch, throw out bearing and pressure plate

4.875 rear end (Stock was 5.125)

5 new 4.5" x 19" Firestones on professionally rebuilt rims.

new radiater, new water pump and hoses The car never overheats.

Steering is great, I had Phil Marino rebuild the steering box and it is a
pleasure to drive.

Alfin Brake drums, Phil Marino also rebuilt/ resleeved my brake master
cylinder.

Lucas Tripod headlights

Original (not repro) Brooklands racing screen.

Participant in 1982, 1983, 1984 Monterey Historic Races, winner in 1983

I have many photos for anyone interested

Bob

TC for sale

Click here: eBay Motors item 596650185 (Ends Oct-18-01 17:36:26 PDT ) - MG : All Models

To all,
If anyone is looking for a very nice TC, there is one on e-Bay at the above link that is for sale. Take a few moments to view the slides included. Judging from the pictures on the slide show, especially the ones taken under the car, this car has been transported by trailer, not driven.
The restoration is not complete, but it appears to be a project that could be finished up very easily.
My best, Ben Cordsen

Just viewed the pictures of the TC for sale. Anyone notice the part
extending down off the bottom of the oil pump? I have never seen
anything like that. Any ideas? Something to do with boositing oil
pressure?

Yes, it's an add-on oil pressure regulator. There used to be several
varieties sold on the aftermarket.

To all,
The part shown on the bottom of the oil pump is an adjustable oil pressure regulator. I have an old ad that indicates it could be used to "dial up" additional oil pressure for competition use.
The ad is attached...
