Spares

Post by Bill Harkins » Tue May 02, 2000 10:29 am

Now that we know how old we are and when we bought our first TC (1957 in my case), I would like to get some input from the vast wisdom of the group. As the touring season is upon us, what should the intrepid TC driver carry in the way of spare parts to assure a reliable trip home? What is essential, nice to have, fit in if you ve got room, etc? In our club we are often carrying spares that others might use as well. On a tour this weekend, the simple matter of a couple of quarts of oil caused one participant a loss of oil pressure after the tappet cover loosened up requiring a rescue trip of about 50 miles. There must be a basic list short of the vast assortment that Harry Pyle carried on his TC around the world trip. The list might include appropriate tools also. Bill Harkins Fallbrook, CA

Hi all
I have decided to clean out my garage of some parts in order to help finance
the restoration of my PA.
I have the following for sale:

I have a completely rebuilt differential with tapered pinion bearings, a few
chassis parts including the axle housing, an XPAG engine disassembled
complete with large sump, 60 over and 30 under crank, everything ran great
before I dismantled it. Also a TC gearbox and clutch housing, TC head with
large valves and enlarged
ports, a rebuilt set of 1-1/2" SU carbs, a derrington exhaust header.

TA TB TC:

Spare tire bracket and a set of seat back adjusters and wheel well brackets
re-chromed.

Misc.

I also have about 10 yards of tan canvas that can be used for hoods, toneau
covers, and side curtains.

Please contact me off list.

Regards

Gerry, I would be interested in a couple of the parts you offer. Specifically the SUs and Derrington exhaust.
Where are you located and what are you asking for those items plus the engine?
