Trailer Wanted for TC

Post by AndyJ » Sun Dec 05, 1999 2:41 pm

Dear All, I am beginning to show my age, I guess, but I am findng an increasing need to trailer. Not that I have lost any of my dashing daring vis-a-vis the road, the elements, the traffic, etc, rather that I am starting to give in to that plaintive refrain: "Honey, 'we' could go on so many more long distance MG events if only 'we' did not have to cram everything in the MG and get 'our' hair all blown around for days on end. Can our Explorer pull a trailer with an MG on it?" or something to that effect! So if anyone has a good used trailer that fits a TC, and you live on the West Coast (US) or Nevada, please let me know. "We" are in a buying mood.

I pull a trailer with a variety of MG's on tow with a GMC Jimmy Six and
it works very well. No problems in seven years.
One recommendation..put on a transmission oil cooler. The idea of
driving any T Type more than 100 miles, at my age is out of the
question....I also like my wife to come with me, hence the trailer.
I know of a decent trailer made for a TD that 's on the market but it's
in New York State...price is right at $1,500... Its about three years
old and has had little use.
Good luck

Regards Geoff

Syd:

With roads getting busier and drivers getting more idiotic my family ha
found that a trailer is the only way to get to long distance shows (over
100 miles).

Your Explorer should be able to tow an open trailer with the TC with no
problem. An enclosed trailer which is more secure and weatherproof I think
requires a full size pick-up or Suburban/Expedition. I use a Suburban with
an enclosed trailer.
